Bagan - inspiration for our square mother of pearl buttons
The dramatic stillness and timeless beauty of Bagan’s red brick temples is the inspiration behind the square-shaped mother of pearl buttons of the Bagan Square Collection.
Bagan was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan from the 9th to the 13th centuries. Over the course of 250 years, 10,000 religious monuments were built on the plains next to the Irawaddy River. Today, just 2,000 monuments remain, but it is still one of the densest concentrations of temples and pagodas in the world.
Today, Bagan is a pilgrimage site for Myanmar Buddhists and the largest tourist attraction in the country.
